Open Ice ran its first camp over the 2025 winter break at Ted Reeve Community Arena.
The inaugural Open Ice camp ran from 29 December 2025 to 2 January 2026 at Ted Reeve Community Arena. Nine children from St. Paul Catholic School in Regent Park attended, most of them stepping onto the ice for the first time.
The pilot established the model that every camp since has followed: full equipment provided and kept, professional coaching, free to the family, and recruitment aimed at the neighbourhoods with the highest need.
